How do I order?
Click on the Add To Cart button beside the item you want. This takes you to the Shopping Cart page, which shows you what you have bought. If you wish to change the quantity, over-write the quantity and press Update - make sure the total changes. If you are finished shopping, click on the Checkout button.

What if I need to add an image?
You can email us and attach the image (we tie up the image and order via the email address) or
some of the items have an Upload facility, either next to the item, or in the 'blurb' at the top of that page. When you have uploaded the picture (it may not be immediately obvious that it has worked, but you will get an email confirming it), you ALSO NEED TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR THE ITEM YOU WANT IT ON if you have not already done so.

What if I am ordering several items?
The best thing to do is to put everything on the same order so you don't get charged extra postage, & don't have to add your payment details again.
When you do 'Add to Cart' for your first item, it takes you to the Shopping Cart which shows you what you've bought. Use the Back button on your computer (usually top left of your screen) to take you back to the page you were on (If you use Continue Shopping it takes you back to the Home Page).
If you then want a different kind of item, click on one of the links down the left hand side, and Add to Cart again for the next item, which will show you your increased Shopping Cart, and only go to Checkout when you have completed shopping. There is also a View Shopping Cart button on each page.
If some of the items require photos, then you can send all the photos in the same email, with instructions, eg for paperweight use attachment 1, for coasters use attachment 2 etc.

What kind of image can I send?
Subject to copyright issues (see below) you can send:
photographs, paintings, calligraphy, computer-generated images/text, children's drawings, etc. etc.
THE BETTER THE ORIGINAL, THE BETTER THE RESULT, ESPECIALLY FOR LARGER ITEMS.

What if I still can't think of anything?
Some of the items on this site have Do-It-Yourself versions. Just order the item you want and choose a suitable image in the comfort of your own home.
Some examples are: postcards, calendar pictures, greetings cards, wrapping paper, magazine or newspaper cuttings, embroidery, dried flowers, textiles, etc. etc.

Could you explain about copyright?
Printed materials such as postcards are subject to copyright, as are photos not taken by you, unless you have obtained permission from the photographer. No copyright is involved if you are using the ACTUAL photo, postcard etc. This includes photographs (e.g. wedding) taken by a professional photographer. But if you ask us to COPY something, then you are responsible for any breach of copyright.

How do I send digital images?
For e-mailing, we recommend a TIF image of no more then 10MB, re-saved as a JPG image of no more than 2MB. If you are unsure whether the photo would be OK for the item you want to order, e-mail it to us before ordering and we will confirm whether it is suitable.
You can also send larger digital images on cd. The cd will be returned to you.
REMEMBER IF YOU ARE SENDING US A PHOTOGRAPH VIA UPLOAD OR EMAIL, YOU ALSO NEED TO PLACE AN ORDER FOR THE ITEM YOU WANT IT ON.

How do I send images by post?
Send them in a cardboard-protected envelope. A 6 x 4 print is adequate. Please note that while every care will naturally be taken with your photo(s), liability for loss/damage extends to the cost of materials sent only. This includes loss by the postal service. If a photo is irreplaceable or of special value, you might consider sending it by special delivery, insuring it, or getting a copy made first.

If I send my image by post, do I get it back?
If we use the actual image then we cannot return it, but if we use a copy, we will send your original back along with your order.

How do you crop the image for a round or square item?
If we receive no special instructions, we will use our own judgment. If unsure, we will contact you.
The description for each item specifies the size of the image, so you can make a rough assessment with a ruler, or an accurate one with a template - but this may not apply if we are using a different-size copy of the image.

If you are sending the image by post, DO NOT TRY TO CUT THE PICTURE YOURSELF, OR WRITE ON IT If you have special instructions, please write them on a separate sheet of paper.

What if I have special instructions?
You can add them to the "extra information" box at checkout (or phone, fax or e-mail us).

How long does my order take?
DIY items are normally shipped within a day or two.
For orders using photos/artwork
, normally allow up to 1 week from when we receive your order, or up to 2 weeks for melamine items. We may be able to complete an order more quickly if it is urgent, so always tell us when ordering if you have a deadline
If your deadline is tight, it is best to check by phone or e-mail before you place the order. We can tell you at once if it's not possible.

Can I have an item sent to another UK address?
Yes, just tell us at checkout or send an email. But we do also need the cardholder's address, and your contact details in case of a query with the order.

How can I pay?
You can pay by secure credit card facility on this site via Worldpay. If you prefer to pay by cheque or postal order, please print off the order form and send it with your cheque payable to Photos On Things. Or you can pay by credit card over the telephone:  01895 233499.

What about postage and packing?
There is a standard charge of £2.00 per order for UK post and packing. This will be added at checkout.
This is for 'normal' orders - postage will be charged at cost for customers ordering at discounted prices, and will be indicated when we quote you a price.

Do your prices include vat?
Yes.
Most of the items on the website are liable to vat at the current standard rate, and it is included in the prices shown. It is clearly indicated where an item is zero-rated.
Vat-registered companies in the UK or within the EEC can reclaim the vat, please ask for a vat invoice when ordering.

Do you send overseas?
Regrettably no.  This is because some items are heavy and cost a lot more to post abroad.

What if I don't like the result?
Contact us within 7 days of receipt and tell us what's wrong. Depending on what the problem is, we will replace the item, substitute another, or offer you a refund or credit.
